ABOUT THE TRAVELER

My name is Josh McClure. I’m 26, married to my Kindergarten sweetheart, and living in North Carolina with our two dogs. I work in construction and have lived in multiple cities and towns across Virginia and North Carolina. Moving around taught me to adapt quickly and gave me an appreciation for exploring new places.

Most of my travels so far have been within the U.S., but my goal is to eventually see more of the world. Travel is something I enjoy most with my wife, and it is a big part of what I share here.

I only started reading regularly in my mid-20s, but it quickly became a passion. I gravitate toward authors like Michael Crichton, Anne Patchett, Stephen King, Cormac McCarthy, Barbara Kingsolver, Denis Johnson, and Claire Keegan. Outside of books and travel, I am a collector of comic books and vinyl records. 

This blog brings it all together, a place where I write about the books I am reading, the places I am visiting, and the experiences and opinions that come with them.
